The hydraulic ram pulled the new pipe through the damaged pipe underground using a steel cable and a splitting wedge, breaking the old pipe apart to accommodate the new HDPE pipe. One continuous length of pipe is installed free of joints under buildings, trees, driveways and roads without digging a trench.
