"They were the only ones to bring a camera to examine the sewer pipe at
our first meeting. They were 2k under one bid and 9k under another bid. Work was
professional, quick, no disruption to my household other then loss of the use of the
driveway for a few days. They introduced me to their concrete sub's and ended up letting me
have a separate contract with them. When the put the plywood down to cover the hole, where
it crossed the sidewalk they put in asphalt to create a smooth transition and painted
orange lines at all the crossing points, which made me worry less about people tripping and
suing during the repair. Great company."

"It was very important for me, having taken the
morning off, for the plumber to come on time. I was given a 9-11am timeframe, but
told he would be dispatched at 8:30am and hopefully to my house well before 10am
and out by 11am if all went smoothly. He showed up at 11:20am -- I was a minute
from calling to cancel. Because he was late, he gave me a 10% discount on the
job. The job was disgusting -- a dead mouse in our plumbing -- and he worked hard
and was quiet and courteous. He left the bathroom looking like I had killed
someone in there and the tub and tiles were chipped in the process of using his
electric snake. The upside was that he did not give up, even when the job broke
his snake. He also charged me the $123 agreed upon price, even though the job
took longer and was more difficult than expected."

"Charged $275 for a camera inspection that
lasted a total of 15 minutes and only included the last 10 feet of the sewer
pipe. After checking with another company I found out the inspection should have
included a video tape for the building department to review, marking of the sewer
line location and they went through the vent pipe on the roof, which showed the
entire sewer line. Magic Plumbing's estimate for to replace the sewer line was
$9,000 and two other companies gave me estimates in the $3,000 - $3,500 range. To
their credit Magic Plumbing did refund the entire $275 when I confronted them
with the inadequate inspection they had done."

"This was a simple project required by San Fran
for a condo conversion to place backflow restrictors on 3 hose bibs. If the city
didn't require a permit pulled by a licensed plumber I could have done the work
myself for about $50 in parts. First, I very glad that Magic Plumber took
the job. No one else seemed to care. Their office staff were great to set up
appointments and answer my questions on pulling the permit. However, the plumber
wasn't good at keeping appointments -- a couple of hours late for the initial
assessment appointment without a call to advise, didn't get work done before
inspector arrived (inspector approved anyway), and missed inspector appointment.
When arrived shortly after the inspector left he only had 2 of 3 restrictors so
had to find the third and return. This was a bit of a hassle particularly since
the job coast $477, most of which was service fee (150+) for pulling the permit
and permit fee (150+). But, I'm still glad they accepted the job."

know if it's a good job, but no leaks yet!!!! And the sink definitely looks
better! Just a couple of things - when doing the estimate, I got a number for a
new sink and faucet and a new vanity. Then, we decided to leave the vanity, and
just put in a new sink and faucet. Alan told me that there would be no change in
price. I'm not sure I understood why this would be true. The vanity and the labor
to put it in didn't cost anything? Or, no matter what, they wanted a certain
dollar amount out of the job? Secondly, we had an appointment to do the
work between 10am and 11am. Alan didn't get there until just after noon, but
didn't call either at my office or at home to tell me he was running late. I was
just about to leave for work when he arrived, so we almost missed each other. He
said something about my phone number, but didn't really say he tried to call.
Otherwise, things went fairly well. I'm happy so far."
